About The Position

This role involves designing and developing scalable payments microservices using JDK 11 and JDK 21, leveraging frameworks such as Spring Boot, Dropwizard, JAX-RS, and Java REST APIs. The engineer will build and optimize CRUD operations across services using MySQL (RDBMS), ensuring performance, data integrity, and reliability in financial transactions. The position requires practicing Test-Driven Development (TDD), writing comprehensive unit tests (JUnit), and integration tests (Cucumber) to ensure robustness, maintainability, and high code quality. The role also includes participating in peer code reviews via Git & Stash, providing constructive feedback to improve code standards, reducing defects, and enforcing best practices. Additionally, the engineer will generate and maintain API specifications and service contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger Codege to enable seamless integration across internal and external systems. The job requires up to 10% of domestic travel.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, foreign equivalent, or higher in Information Systems Technologies, Software Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in Technology, Software Engineering, or related occupation.
Experience in developing and enhancing enterprise applications with a focus on backend microservices using Java and frontend features using Angular.
Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs with Spring Boot, JAX-RS, Jersey, and Lombok for CRUD operations, service orchestration, and system integration.
Experience designing Angular components and leveraging RxJS for state management and reactive programming.
Experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) with JUnit, Karma, and Jasmine to ensure quality.
Experience conducting unit and integration testing with frameworks such as JUnit and Cucumber.
Experience contributing to projects through CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as Maven for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Experience working with relational databases.
Experience collaborating in Agile environments including Scrum and Kanban to deliver scalable solutions aligned with client requirements.
