Senior Software Engineer (Capture)

Pindrop
•$130,000 - $170,000•Remote

About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer on Pindrop’s Capture team, you will design, build, and operate distributed services that form the company’s real-time ingestion layer. The systems acquire, normalize, and deliver real-time and recorded audio, video, and telephony metadata from communication providers—including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet, Amazon Connect, and Genesys—to downstream analytics, fraud detection, and authentication engines. This product-engineering role focuses on real-time media ingestion, low-latency streaming pipelines, provider integrations, and production reliability, rather than ML model development or scoring. You will lead projects from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support. You will also contribute technical guidance and mentorship, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and participate in a shared on-call rotation after training and production-readiness onboarding. Pindrop is a cybersecurity company that provides continuous identity verification across voice, video, and digital interactions. Its technology supports enterprises in detecting synthetic identities, identifying risk, and authenticating identities. The company describes its platform as protecting billions of high-risk interactions for financial institutions, insurers, healthcare organizations, and other enterprises. The position is remote-first, with regular team on-sites, company-wide events, and other intentional in-person gatherings. The US base pay range is $130,000–$170,000 USD.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience building and operating distributed backend services in production.
  • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or a comparable compiled language.
  • Strong Linux/Unix, networking, concurrency, and performance-tuning fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices such as Terraform/CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex distributed-systems issues, including participation in on-call production support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with real-time communication protocols and streaming frameworks such as SIPREC, VoIP, SIP, RTP, WebRTC, WebSockets, FFmpeg, or GStreamer.
  • Experience integrating with telephony, contact-center, CPaaS, or meeting platforms such as Amazon Connect, Genesys, Zoom, Teams, or Webex.
  • Experience with event-driven messaging systems such as Apache Kafka/MSK, distributed caching, or service-to-service API design using REST/gRPC.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, and security best practices in compliance-sensitive cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and operate distributed Go microservices and media pipelines optimized for low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Build and evolve integrations across communication technologies and protocols, including SIPREC, RTP, WebRTC, WebSockets, and enterprise contact-center platforms.
  • Lead projects from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
  • Diagnose complex distributed-systems issues using logs, metrics, traces, and system tests; improve service reliability, capacity, and security.
  • Provide technical guidance through design reviews, code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Partner with Product, System Test, Infrastructure, SRE, and adjacent analytics teams to deliver seamless data ingestion.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation after completing team training and production-readiness onboarding.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including RSUs for all employees.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
  • Health and welfare plans, including one employer-paid employee-only plan.
  • Employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).

  • One year of diaper delivery for a new addition to the family.
  • Recurring monthly phone and internet allowance.
  • Enhanced fertility and GLP-1 benefits.
  • Annual Learning & Development stipend for professional growth, skill-building, certifications, and continued education.
