About The Position

Work as part of a team delivering state-of-the-art online and offline mapping algorithms and systems for L4 self-driving vehicles. Design, develop, and implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and contribute to the technical direction of the team and broader perception organization. Write robust software for real-time, resource-constrained, safety-critical applications. Contribute to cross-functional features and work streams from problem definition through delivery, and proactively identify limitations in the existing online mapping system and drive improvements. Telecommuting is permissible from any location within the United States, but the employee must live within reasonable commuting distance of headquarters and appear in the office as required. Domestic travel may be required up to 25%. The position is based at 1001 Technology Drive, Mount Pleasant, PA 15666, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a related position; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field followed by four years of experience in the job offered or a related position. The employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Experience or education in architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models, such as convolutional neural networks or transformer-based models, for real-world use cases.
  • Experience or education training perception models, such as object detection and semantic segmentation models, using camera and lidar data for autonomous driving and/or real-time robotic applications.
  • Experience or education optimizing machine learning or deep learning models for onboard deployment using techniques such as quantization, TensorRT, or C++ programming, or similar methods.
  • Experience training and deploying machine learning and deep learning models using PyTorch and Python.
  • Track record of driving applied research projects from conception and problem definition through experimentation, iteration, and publication or productization.
  • Experience applying software engineering and machine learning algorithm design to develop real-world products.
