About The Position

Turquoise Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its AI team and help reduce the financial complexity of healthcare. The role involves building and operating AI-enabled systems, addressing complex technical challenges, collaborating with Product and Engineering partners, and shaping how AI is used across the company. The position is fully remote within the United States, and the team operates on US business hours.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience in Python.
• Prior experience shipping a complex system with significant customer impact.
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML tools and frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

• Experience with additional backend languages.

Responsibilities

• Work with subject matter experts to craft effective evaluations of AI product features.
• Design, build, and operate customer-facing features integrated into core product workflows.
• Build and maintain internal services that provide stable, reusable interfaces for other engineers.
• Bring AI workflows to production with observability, fallback strategies, and consideration for cost.
• Partner with product stakeholders to define when AI is appropriate versus exploring alternate solutions.
