Senior Software Engineer - Growth Platform

About The Position

Slack’s Growth Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build shared infrastructure that supports Growth at Slack. This full-stack role involves working across initiatives with varying amounts of backend and frontend development. The engineer will design and ship platform capabilities used by Growth teams, including systems for feature access, promotions, trials, experimentation, and in-product notifications.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including designing, building, and operating production systems at scale.
Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go.
Track record of leading cross-team and cross-functional projects from design through launch and post-launch.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with TypeScript/React and PHP/Hack.
Experience with entitlements or permissions, promotions, trials, experimentation, or notification systems.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain infrastructure systems for feature access logic, promotions, trials, in-product notifications, and experimentation.
Work with product managers, designers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to support Slack’s growth strategy from a systems perspective.
Lead engineering-driven projects to solve ambiguous problems and create clarity.
Guide and mentor more junior engineers.
