About The Position

Intuitive Machines - West is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of multiple enterprise applications running on AWS GovCloud infrastructure. This role requires a versatile engineer comfortable working across multiple technology stacks, cloud services, legacy client-server architectures, and Linux system administration. This role can be based remotely in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of work experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience
  • Experience with C++, Java, and Scala
  • Experience with client-server architectures and Java desktop applications
  • Familiarity with OpenWebStart, Java Web Start (JNLP), or similar deployment technologies
  • Experience with network protocols and concepts, from Ethernet through HTTP[/2,] gRPC and/or Thrift
  • Linux system administration experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar distributions)
  • Experience with shell scripting and Linux command-line tools
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and administration
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (GovCloud experience highly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain multiple enterprise applications deployed in AWS GovCloud environment
  • Support and modernize client-server applications utilizing OpenWebStart/Java Web Start technology
  • Design, develop, and optimize software solutions using C++, Java, and Scala
  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for enterprise-scale applications
  • Perform Linux system administration tasks including server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure applications meet security and compliance requirements for government cloud environments
  • Monitor system performance, implement automation, and maintain system security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Implement best practices for cloud-native application development and deployment
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the application stack and infrastructure
