About The Position

Customer Connectivity is a global Mastercard team that designs, builds and supports service platforms that provide cryptographic, key management and certificate management functions utilized by global Mastercard application teams. The Customer Connectivity team develops and supports shared security services to be leveraged across Enterprise by consuming application teams. Our inventory of shared services include cryptography, certificate management, code signing, and key management. This Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the component design, development and integration of digital security technologies and solutions to be leveraged by the enterprise. This position includes partnering with project managers for implementation of technical solutions, detailing costs and time estimates for initiatives, mentoring junior team members through all phases of the software development lifecycle, and ensuring compliance of audit requirements proactively. Candidates must be able to obtain a deep technical understanding of the applications/systems that they are working on and must be willing to dig in and ask challenging questions to make sure that plans are executed efficiently. Candidates should have a strong interest in Corporate Security. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical leadership and ability to engage in out-of-the-box problem solving. Candidate will be responsible for researching alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.

Requirements

  • Experience in working with fast-paced, modern architecture using Java, Spring boot, Kafka, C++, JNI or similar technologies.
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Software Development Best Practices (TDD/BDD, Unit test, Continuous Delivery, …)
  • Very good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Desire to stay abreast of new development technologies and tools.
  • Very good inter-personal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to express design ideas to a development team.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in a continuous integration development environment, preferably Jenkins.
  • Experience with Java/J2EE
  • Experience with cryptographic primitives, concepts, and protocols
  • Good understanding of private or public cloud eco systems.
  • Experience in secure software development.

Responsibilities

  • Code, document, test components / subsystems to a high standard
  • Must be solutions oriented – ultimately find and implement the ‘best fit’ solution to address the requirement on time.
  • Assist defining processes and choice of development tools to be used across the group
  • Interpret technical specifications to produce detailed design
  • Design with future extension in mind
  • Perform functional and performance testing of solutions
  • Ensure code is easily maintainable and tracked in version control system
  • Provide task estimates, level of complexity assessment
  • Provide input to scheduling of projects
  • Ensure tasks get executed on time and to required standards
  • Pass on knowledge of various technologies to other team members and to other functions
