About The Position

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop, validate, deploy, and maintain an agnostic software tool chain supporting multiple GM vehicle architectures and enabling Tier 1 suppliers to build software to GM specifications. The role owns the tool chain’s technical direction and requires expertise in serial data, requirements, and complex vehicle scenarios, including translating those scenarios into lower-level simulated environments for testing and validation. The position leads technical solution development, software system design, complex design analysis, and software anomaly correction. It also develops and maintains CAN and Ethernet test tools, designs and executes performance validation strategies, supports software integration and deployment, and maintains technical documentation. The engineer serves as a subject matter expert, mentors junior engineers, participates in continuous improvement, and stays current with automotive software trends and practices. This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI, or Milford, MI, three times per week. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits.
