About The Position

Honeydew is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Platform team, which provides trusted data to feature teams and business stakeholders. The role focuses on improving the security, reliability, and accuracy of the company’s data platform, including its data layer and safeguards for patient data in a HIPAA environment. The engineer will work with the engineering manager to plan projects, design data models, and execute migrations using agentic engineering methods. They will build and maintain data pipelines and reporting access, review data-related code, and partner with other teams on data needs and security reviews. During the first six months, the role is expected to establish monitoring for query performance, data quality, and capacity, and resolve the top five issues identified. It will also deliver at least two data security or governance improvements by day 60, with examples including audit-log coverage for PHI access, tighter data-store access controls, or automated detection of sensitive data in non-production environments. By day 180, the engineer will document a schema-change and data-quality process for feature teams to follow, while avoiding production incidents caused by data-layer changes in supported areas. Honeydew builds a digitally native dermatology platform that connects people with licensed specialists, FDA-approved treatments, and ongoing support. Its stated mission is to ensure that no one suffers from a treatable skin disease because of an access issue.
