About The Position

GliaCell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer on one of our subcontracts. This full-time position involves providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission-related software and systems for a large government contract. GliaCell Technologies focuses on Software & System Engineering in Enterprise and Cyber Security solution spaces, excelling at delivering stable and reliable software solutions using Agile Software Development principles. Our Enterprise capabilities include Full-Stack Application Development, Big Data, Cloud Technologies, Analytics, Machine Learning, AI, and DevOps Containerization. We also provide customer solutions in CND, CNE, and CNO, including assessments and solutions in Threat Mitigation, Vulnerability Exposure, Penetration Testing, Threat Hunting, and Preventing Advanced Persistent Threat.

Requirements

  • Active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance (in-scope poly, within 7 years).
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • 14+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Works well independently as well as on a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiar with Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with and able to develop and run ansible playbooks.
  • Experience writing Map / Reduce applications.
  • Experience writing Accumulo iterators and using scanners and Accumulo ingest (streaming and bulk imports).
  • Familiarity with the Data Warehouse and their processing pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems.
  • Set up, deploy, and troubleshoot Hadoop, Map / Reduce, Accumulo and Zookeeper.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues, such as off-lining an HDFS node because of a bad disk or off-lining an Accumulo tserver process because of bad memory.
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments.
  • Develop and run ansible playbooks.
  • Write Map / Reduce applications.
  • Write Accumulo iterators and use scanners and Accumulo ingest (streaming and bulk imports).
  • Work independently as well as on a team.
  • Communicate effectively.
