About The Position

At SmartLight Analytics, the Senior Software Engineer helps address rising healthcare costs by building and scaling applications that process large healthcare datasets and turn them into insights for employers and employees. The role is suited to an engineer who takes ownership, works across the stack, and wants to contribute to software with direct impact. The engineer will use technologies including React, Python/Django, SQL Server, Azure, and Kubernetes, and will work with a collaborative, growth-oriented remote agile team. The position offers opportunities to shape architecture, mentor junior developers, and contribute to frontend, backend, cloud, and data work.

Requirements

At least 5 years of full-stack development experience.
Strong skills in React, including modern hooks and state management.
Strong skills in Python/Django.
Experience with SQL Server, Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Comfort using agile tools and practices, including GitHub, Jira, code reviews, and testing frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.

Nice To Haves

Experience with healthcare data and HIPAA compliance.
Knowledge of Azure services, data visualization, or infrastructure as code.
Startup experience or open-source contributions.

Responsibilities

Design and build full-stack web applications and APIs that handle complex healthcare data.
Deploy and optimize scalable, secure applications on Azure and Kubernetes.
Collaborate in an agile environment to deliver high-impact solutions.
Improve performance, reliability, and automation using modern DevOps practices.
Stay current with emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the team.
