Senior Software Engineer

C.H. Robinson•Eden Prairie, MN

About The Position

C.H. Robinson is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Plan/Optimizer team within Technology. The team builds an intelligent planning platform that helps customers determine how to move freight through their networks. The engineer will develop optimization, automation, business-rule, and operational-intelligence platforms and services that generate actionable shipment plans at scale. These systems assess transportation decisions while balancing cost, service, utilization, constraints, and customer-specific objectives. The technology supports Navisphere Optimizer and other planning capabilities that help customers reduce transportation spend and miles traveled, improve trailer utilization, and strengthen supply chain performance. The role involves designing and operating cloud-native planning and optimization services, shaping technical roadmaps and architecture, and building APIs, event-driven services, and workflow orchestration capabilities. The engineer will partner with product, supply chain, data science, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, and will provide technical leadership through mentoring, design and code reviews, and knowledge sharing. The position can be based only in Minnesota, Illinois, or Kansas City.
