About The Position

Join the Data Feed Integration (DFI) team on the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Cloud-Based Command and Control (CBC2) Program. Supporting efforts as the Lead Systems Integrator (LSI), you will drive data feed integration initiatives. The team ensures seamless integration of external data feeds, API-based systems, and internal architectures to enable mission success, modernize government Command and Control capabilities, and advance operational readiness. The position combines technical, strategic, and collaborative responsibilities. You will manage repeatable, standardized integration processes and develop custom solutions for complex challenges involving software networking, secure data exchange, and system compatibility. The hybrid work arrangement includes 25% travel for installations and integration events in secure spaces, 25% in-office work for team collaboration, and 50% remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field and nine years of relevant experience; or a master's degree and seven years of relevant experience. Equivalent years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Eight or more years of professional experience in one or more of the following roles: Software Systems Engineer, Data Engineer, or Software Engineer.
  • Experience designing and integrating complex software architectures, ETL pipelines, and scalable systems for secure data exchange.
  • Experience integrating data feeds, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with data formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Expertise troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and compatibility issues.
  • Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CCSP, or certifications in data engineering, cloud architecture, or software networking.

  • Experience with cloud-focused programming, including working with APIs and cloud SDKs.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures or stream-processing technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience working in secure environments and performing installations and integration events in restricted areas.
  • Proficiency in lightweight scripting to automate data transformations.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and distributed system architectures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive integration efforts by coordinating across teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and internal teams to capture and analyze data feed requirements.
  • Employ and refine repeatable data feed integration processes for efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Analyze unique or technically challenging data exchange requirements and design tailored solutions.
  • Write data mappings between external formats—including CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet, and ORC—and internal program data structures.
  • Create, update, and present system diagrams, integration workflows, and technical architecture artifacts.
  • Write and maintain actionable Jira tickets to guide development work.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to validate architecture changes and meet security requirements.
  • Oversee end-to-end testing for new data feed integrations and identify and resolve issues.
