Senior Software Engineer - ZTC
About The Position
Cloudflare is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Zero Trust Connectivity team, which builds the hub connecting Cloudflare One and Zero Trust products, including Cloudflare WAN, Cloudflare One Client, Cloudflare Tunnels, Gateway, and Workers VPC. The hub is powered by Rust-based services running across Cloudflare data centers and routing Cloudflare One traffic end to end. The team evolves these services as Zero Trust capabilities grow, with scalability and reliability as priorities. In this role, you will contribute across technologies and systems to develop solutions that connect Cloudflare One products. You will build connectivity in a user-space service that identifies and routes flows across Cloudflare’s global network, collaborating closely with other teams and using frameworks and libraries that support Cloudflare products. The technology stack includes Rust, Linux networking, ClickHouse, SaltStack, Prometheus, AI harnesses, and the Cloudflare Workers platform. The role is available in Lisbon, London, or Austin. Compensation varies by work location; for Lisbon-based hires, the estimated annual salary is €66,000–€83,000. The role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
Requirements
- Programming experience in Rust.
- Familiarity with Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking.
- Systems-level programming experience in Linux.
- Experience building large-scale, reliable, highly distributed systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve complex customer problems.
- Ability to own solutions end to end and drive design, development, and deployment.
- Ability to work across teams and develop common, sustainable solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
