About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for analysis, design, modeling, and architecture for application systems and domains, as well as the overall health, maintenance, and support of assigned applications. The role develops detailed requirements from high-level business requirements, prioritizes work, contributes to technical and business planning, and works with clients, business analysts, and team members to improve business processes and application systems. The position leads or participates in planning and evaluation of application solutions, develops technical specifications, designs complex solutions, and may develop or modify application components using disciplined software development processes. It also supports data-source and middleware decisions, application integration, quality standards, testing, production readiness, and ongoing application improvement. The engineer leads assigned small- to medium-sized, moderately complex projects following HMSA's project management methodology; provides Tier II and potentially Tier III application support; troubleshoots system issues; and may provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, reports, and presentations. The role provides application support in the Application Lead's absence and participates in technical planning for assigned systems.
