About The Position

The Investments and Risk Technology team is seeking a hands-on software engineer to design and deliver high-visibility applications for web and handheld devices. The role focuses on building polished, scalable React applications and contributing to AI-enabled and agentic workflow capabilities. The engineer will work with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to capture requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and implement applications supporting investment and risk workflows. The position involves creating intuitive user experiences, integrating frontend applications with backend services, and using agentic coding workflows and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery. The role also includes building AI agents that can call tools, interact with APIs, retrieve context, and complete multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention. Relevant AI application patterns include prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), structured outputs, embeddings, tool calling, and response evaluation. The position is full-time and follows Invesco’s workplace policy, which as of October 1, 2025, requires employees to spend at least four full days each week working in an Invesco office. The salary range for Atlanta, Georgia is $110,000–$130,000 per year; total compensation includes salary and incentive pay and varies based on skills, experience, and location.

Requirements

  • Strong experience building modern web interfaces using React and TypeScript, including reusable components, responsive design, API integration, and clean frontend architecture.
  • Experience with agentic coding workflows, including AI coding assistants, agent-based development tools, or autonomous coding workflows.
  • Practical experience building AI agents that perform multi-step tasks, reason through workflows, call tools, interact with APIs, retrieve context, and complete tasks with minimal human intervention.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, version control, debugging, testing, deployment practices, and engineering-team collaboration.
  • Ability to work across frontend and backend systems, integrating React applications with APIs, services, databases, and AI-powered workflows.
  • Experience with LLM application patterns such as prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling, structured outputs, embeddings, and AI response evaluation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with agent development frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Bedrock AgentCore, AutoGen, or similar tools.
  • Experience building AI-powered user experiences, including chat interfaces, human-in-the-loop review screens, streaming responses, agent activity traces, and approval workflows.
  • Experience building AI-enabled applications in financial services, investment management, risk, research, portfolio management, or similar domains.
  • Experience with backend technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Node.js, Snowflake DB, Redis, message queues, and API orchestration.
  • Experience building applications for web and handheld devices, including responsive design, mobile-friendly workflows, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with cloud-native delivery, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure deployment practices, and production support.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, authentication and authorization, data security, auditability, and compliance-aware application design.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to refine ambiguous requirements, prototype solutions, gather feedback, and deliver high-visibility applications.
