Senior Software Engineer - Agentic AI and Frontend Applications
About The Position
Invesco’s Investments and Risk Technology team is seeking a hands-on software engineer to design and deliver high-visibility applications for web and handheld devices. The role focuses on modern frontend development with React and agentic coding workflows, while contributing to AI-enabled workflows and applications supporting investment and risk functions. The engineer will work with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and implement scalable applications. Responsibilities include creating polished user experiences, integrating frontend applications with backend services, and building AI agents that can use tools, interact with APIs, retrieve context, and complete multi-step workflows with limited human intervention. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Under Invesco’s workplace policy described in the posting, employees are expected to work in an Invesco office at least four full days each week.
Requirements
- Experience with agentic coding workflows, including AI coding assistants and agent-based development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Strong experience building modern web interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with reusable components, responsive design, API integration, and clean frontend architecture.
- Comfort working across frontend and backend systems and integrating applications with APIs, services, databases, and AI-powered workflows.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, version control, debugging, testing, deployment practices, and engineering-team collaboration.
- Practical experience building AI agents that perform multi-step tasks, reason through workflows, call tools, interact with APIs, and retrieve context.
- Experience with LLM application patterns such as prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling, structured outputs, embeddings, and AI response evaluation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with agent development frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Bedrock AgentCore, AutoGen, or similar tools.
- Experience building AI-powered user experiences, including chat interfaces, human-in-the-loop review screens, streaming responses, agent activity traces, and approval workflows.
- Experience building AI-enabled applications in financial services, investment management, risk, research, portfolio management, or similar domains.
- Experience with backend technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Node.js, Snowflake DB, Redis, message queues, and API orchestration.
- Experience building applications for web and handheld devices, including responsive design, mobile-friendly workflows, accessibility, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud-native delivery, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure deployment practices, and production support.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, authentication and authorization, data security, auditability, and compliance-aware application design.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements, prototype solutions, gather feedback, and deliver high-visibility applications.
