About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for taking technical ownership of key systems and mentor other engineers. You'll help set technical direction, work through ambiguous problems, and be a go-to person for design and architecture decisions on your team and delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions. The role ensures best practices in software development and collaborates with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions. The Senior Software Engineer stays current with technology trends and applies best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years preferred work experience.
  • 2-3 years in software development, including experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
  • Solid track record designing and delivering non-trivial software systems in production
  • Comfortable across at least part of the stack (backend, front-end, data, or infra) with the ability to reason about the rest
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in JavaScript programming language and API development with strong understanding of architectural patterns and system design.
  • Knowledge of REST API web integrations, ServiceNow spoke and store plugins and playbooks

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years with a track record of solving complex technical challenges and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience leading a technical initiative across multiple teams
  • ServiceNow architecture/administration experience at scale
  • ITIL certification and knowledge of Agile development process
  • Healthcare IT, SaaS, or regulated-industry background

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead implementation of medium-to-large features or services end to end
  • Make and document architectural decisions; weigh trade-offs across scalability, cost, and maintainability
  • Mentor and support the growth of less-senior engineers through code review and pairing
  • Partner closely with product and engineering leadership on roadmap and technical feasibility
  • Help improve engineering practices — testing, deployment, observability, incident response
