About The Position

Position Summary... As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have demonstrated expertise in designing and developing backend and cross-platform applications using Java, GO, and/or Python and apply it to the development, improvement, and release of enterprise grade platform services to handle all manner of physical and digital signage systems. In our team, you will work with talented engineers across our platforms including backend service engineers, data science experts, domain architects, UX Designers and product managers. About the team: Our team Fusion Signage is responsible for enabling omni-signage experiences that relate to best in class signage systems for our members in our clubs, dynamic services and backend processing for our merchandising partners for managing all signage activities, and future-proofing our management of all signage data to our users for new merchandising platforms. You will have the opportunity to build new signage experiences for managing different sign templates and data presentations while also determining the future of how fusion signage will be presented to Sam's Club as a whole (dynamic templating, GenAI built messaging for signs, SNAP and promotional benefits, etc.) Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in both building back-end technology stacks and leading teams developing those experiences
  • Strong expertise in data services, business services, and cross platform development using Java, GO, and/or Python
  • Good expertise in creating functional automation testing open-source automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity working with REST APIs
  • Clear Communication, including the ability to create functional charts.
  • Ability to multitask between several different requirements and features concurrently.
  • Experience with cloud native technology, CI/CD
  • Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to perform in a team environment.
  • Must have Data experience with SQL Queries and Designs
  • Experience in Azure cloud architecture and deployments and strong understanding of cloud technology
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Experience in merchandising domains preferred
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and apply this to the development of action plans.
  • Analyze business problems to design solutions and/or implements and test complex code changes for specific requirements or application.
  • Deliver high quality code for the product requirements in an agile scrum sprint.
  • Lead the team in how the front-end will be built and all standards related to that functionality
  • Investigate and fix software defects.
  • Assure app stability and code coverage by writing Unit and Functional tests.
  • Collaborate with team members across web, native and backend tech stacks to align on solutions across platforms.
  • Utilize industry open-source research, tools, and practices to improve Walmart technology environment.
  • Define and enforce technical standards and best practices for front-end and full-stack development.
  • Implement application which meet throughput and SLAs requirements.
  • Implement unit test cases, perform code reviews, and write feature documentation.
  • Perform build, deployment, and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA & Production environments.
  • Perform code reviews of proposed source changes
