About The Position

Altana is building an AI-powered product network intended to help governments and businesses create a more resilient and secure global economy while keeping trade flowing. The Engineering team develops the platform, which is driven by AI, scales to large amounts of data, and serves a diverse customer base. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead a small team in developing products customers adopt. You will work closely with Product and Design, spend time observing and speaking with customers, identify customer needs, form hypotheses, and guide products from early ideas through launch and adoption. The role emphasizes customer outcomes, iterative experimentation, and using AI as a core product building block where appropriate. You will own products end to end, including customer discovery, architecture, instrumentation, release, and evaluation of telemetry. You will set technical quality standards, make practical decisions that help teams ship and learn quickly, and mentor engineers in customer-centric, hypothesis-driven development. The role is based in Brooklyn, New York, with hybrid work flexibility. Candidates must be within commuting distance of Altana’s Williamsburg office.
