About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its Embedded Platform team and accelerate system software development for Jetson, IGX, and DGX Spark products. The role focuses on delivering embedded platforms for AI-at-the-edge applications, including robotics, drones, and industrial automation. The engineer will apply expertise in embedded platforms, real-time Linux kernel operating systems, and software architectures while collaborating with a worldwide development team. The position spans the full product lifecycle, from hardware bring-up through production deployment. It involves building and tuning real-time Linux kernels for deterministic workloads, enabling and validating I/O and sensor interfaces, and translating customer use cases into platform features, reference configurations, and tools in collaboration with robotics partners and internal hardware, safety, and middleware teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated experience in Linux and sophisticated embedded systems development, with strong programming skills.
  • Ability to understand robotics, drone, or industrial automation platform hardware architecture and engage with hardware teams.
  • Hands-on experience shipping board support packages (BSPs) for robotics, drone, or industrial automation platforms.
  • Ability to navigate Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, device trees, boot flow, and debugging with tracing tools.
  • Proven real-time Linux kernel development experience.
  • Outstanding technical skills and ability to work across complementary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
  • Understanding of how middleware frameworks such as ROS2 affect platform determinism.
  • Experience building tools or frameworks that let customers configure and verify real-time behavior on deployed systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded microprocessor architectures such as ARM, the Linux kernel, and its subsystems.
  • Experience with developer kits for robotics, drones, or industrial automation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features that showcase Jetson- and IGX-based platforms for robotics, drones, or industrial automation, from board bring-up through production release.
  • Define, build, and tune real-time Linux kernels for deterministic workloads using GPU- and SoC-dependent accelerators.
  • Enable I/O and validate sensor interfaces used by robotics, drones, or industrial automation platforms.
  • Work with robotics partners and internal hardware, safety, and middleware teams to turn customer use cases into platform features, reference configurations, and tools.
  • Participate in the full product lifecycle, from hardware bring-up to production deployment.
  • Model GPU, sensor, and other accelerator-engine workloads related to robotics, drones, or industrial automation applications.
