About The Position

Hype is a mobile trading app for memecoins, described as a “jailbroken coinbase meets venmo” where users can buy, sell, send, and receive any asset on blockchains. The role involves collaborating with a small, tight-knit team, having a high degree of autonomy and accountability, building features end-to-end with full ownership, and improving product efficiency by identifying and solving inefficiencies. The tech stack includes React Native, Expo, Tailwind for frontend; Node.js, Next.js, Express, Prisma, Postgres, Redis, Vercel for backend; and Vercel, AWS, Render for infrastructure.

Requirements

4+ years of experience writing production software
2+ years of experience solving complex distributed systems problems and strong understanding of data processing frameworks
Experience in building scalable and high-performance systems
Interested in working at a small, fast-paced startup
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience
Strong Backend/Full-Stack Programming Skills
5+ years of professional experience in software development
Experience with JS/TS stacks
Experience with mobile development (React Native, Expo)
Experience in environments where you have to ship quickly
Experience designing and building scalable, performant, and secure systems (ideally with a focus on blockchain or fintech)
Experience working on a remote team with a variety of timezones
