About The Position

Erias Ventures is seeking a Signals Software Engineer who develops, maintains, and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors). This role involves working individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, and documenting test results. The engineer will resolve software problem reports, utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies, and provide input to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS utilization, and requirements analysis. The position requires analyzing user requirements to drive software design and performance, designing and coding new software or modifying existing software, debugging, and describing signal processing and digital modulation techniques. The role also includes integrating software, recommending process improvements, developing algorithms, assisting with test procedures, and writing/reviewing documentation. Responsibilities extend to analyzing system flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, potentially leading software development teams, and designing/implementing complex signal processing algorithms with strict constraints. The engineer will also perform quality control and write software using C++ and Java, with the ability to suggest other languages as needed. An advanced understanding of the Linux operating system is essential, along with conferring with system and software engineers to derive requirements and understand project limitations. Developing and maintaining software frameworks for efficient data processing and identifying issues in RF processing systems are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.
  • Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and at least seven (7) years' experience as a SSWE or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g. WVT, DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g. adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation); or four (4) years of additional SSWE or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors).

  • Perform quality control on products
  • Write software using C++ Java; suggest languages as needed to solve problems
  • Develop and maintain software framework to enable efficient processing of data
  • Identify the source of problems in a Radio Frequency (RF) processing system and associated systems in an enterprise architecture
