$115,400 - $219,700

About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a new team delivering Unity platform support for a key platform partner bringing games to TV and mobile form factors. To reach every screen, we will be leveraging both streaming from Linux in the cloud and Web browser builds to be instantly loadable. The team’s goals include delivering stable platform support, realizing developer workflows for Unity users to unlock the unique features of this platform, and leading optimization initiatives to enable Unity to be efficient on the widest possible array of target devices. You have probably worked on performance-critical, cross-platform applications in the past and you know the importance of writing fast, portable and scalable code. You may also be familiar with real-time, browser-based application development using technologies such as HTML5, WebGL/WebGPU, WebAssembly/Emscripten; and/or Linux application technologies such as SDL, Wayland, Linux desktop.

Requirements

  • Strong modern C# proficiency with a dedication to writing clean, testable code.
  • Strong C++ and JavaScript skills in a large codebase
  • Solid understanding of how large applications span languages/frameworks including how synchronous/async calls are made and how memory is owned and marshalled.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable feature sets in a large multithreaded codebase
  • Proficiency with platform profiling tools (CPU/GPU/IO/memory)
  • Sufficient knowledge of English to have professional verbal and written exchanges in this language since the performance of the duties related to this position requires frequent and regular communication with colleagues and partners located worldwide and whose common language is English.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with real time 3D rendering techniques and graphics APIs including WebGPU and/or Vulkan
  • A methodical approach to researching and developing innovative optimization solutions
  • A passion for the future of computer games or real-time 3D experiences in a variety of settings
  • Familiarity with how to best use AI in the software development process.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of an agile team, to design and develop features and workflows in the Unity Editor to support these specific platform configurations.
  • In collaboration with Unity R&D teams around the world, profile and optimize WebGPU/WebAssembly performance — tackling load times, memory management, and the unique constraints of a browser-hosted Unity runtime.
  • Ensure a stable platform by investigating and resolving bug reports
  • Strengthen quality and delivery through automated testing and thoughtful code reviews — while fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence.
