Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
ServiceNow is seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join a dynamic team developing customer-facing AI Developer products. The role combines applied AI and developer-experience-focused products and frameworks with expertise in the Node.js and TypeScript ecosystem. The engineer will contribute to new products and features and enhance the existing product suite, delivering software that customers can easily extend and customize. The role owns code from design through implementation, test automation, and delivery, while following strong software engineering practices. It also includes mentoring colleagues and promoting knowledge-sharing.
Requirements
- Experience leveraging or critically considering how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, such as using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact.
- At least 3 years of experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js.
- Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance and scale considerations.
- Analytical and design skills.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Java.
- Experience with a modern UI framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.
Responsibilities
- Build clean, high-quality, scalable, and reusable code while applying software engineering best practices, including code reviews and unit testing.
- Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own code through design, implementation, test automation, and product delivery.
- Implement simple-to-use software that allows customers to extend and customize functionality.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features and enhance the existing product suite.
- Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing.
