About The Position

This is a full-time, onsite role at Walmart's Sunnyvale, CA office, focusing on Walmart+ Business initiatives. The role aims to enhance member value and engagement by improving the end-to-end experience across acquisition, activation, and ongoing usage within the Membership Engagement & Retention domain. The team identifies critical moments in a member’s lifecycle, designs targeted experiences and benefits to drive repeat behavior, and utilizes insights and experimentation to reduce churn. The work encompasses member communications, in-product journeys, benefit discovery and adoption, and measurement frameworks that link engagement signals to retention outcomes. The position involves architecting, designing, building, testing, and deploying cutting-edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers globally, and leveraging data effectively. The engineer will collaborate with Walmart engineering teams across different geographies, engage with Product Management and Business to define the agenda, set priorities, and deliver product features. Responsibilities also include researching and identifying appropriate open-source tools, contributing to customer analytics features at Walmart scale, and deploying and monitoring products on Cloud platforms while implementing best-in-class monitoring processes to meet SLAs.

Requirements

  • Min 5+ years of web-based application development experience, and 3+ years of fullstack development experience.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in building enterprise grade web-based applications.
  • Proficient in GUI technologies like React.js , JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • End to end knowledge of full stack web application development using JAVA/ Springboot, Kafka, RESTFul services, API and other frameworks.
  • Passionate about building user friendly, intuitive web applications to solve complex business problems.
  • Extremely strong technical background, being hands-on and earn the respect and ability to mentor top individual technical talent.
  • Good experience of working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good with people, ability to negotiate.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience is huge plus
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
