About The Position

Alarm.com Inc. has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer. This role involves designing and developing proprietary software, producing features and enhancements across a variety of technologies. The engineer will lead and deliver on software design, development, testing, and documentation, recommend changes, perform code reviews, and develop tests. Collaboration with Program and Product Management, as well as Quality Engineering, is essential. The role also includes mentoring and/or managing team members, and researching, adopting, and integrating new technologies. Part-time telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a software development occupation.
  • 2 years of experience in object-oriented programming in C#, JavaScript, and/or SQL Server using ASP.NET technology of Windows or Linux.
  • 2 years of experience working with at least one of the following technologies - wireless RF networks, mobile applications, intelligent video analysis, device firmware, home automation, commercial applications, home automation, commercial applications, IoT, APIs web application development, e-commerce applications; or database application development.
  • 2 years of experience performing code reviews, as well as writing and maintaining unit tests.
  • 2 years of experience providing support and mentorship for junior team members.
