Senior Software Engineer

Remitly•Seattle, WA
•$180,000 - $225,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Remitly Transaction Experience (RTE) team owns the platform that accepts, orchestrates, and tracks customer remittances. Its services support transactions across millions of customers and more than 175 countries, including transaction gateways, processing, delivery estimates, and search/read capabilities. The team prioritizes reliability and operational excellence because its systems directly affect customers’ money. The Senior Software Engineer will own one or two key areas of the transaction experience while helping move Remitly toward an API-first transaction platform. The role includes improving delivery estimates, building platform capabilities, and partnering with other teams to deliver reliable transaction experiences. The engineer will lead initiatives spanning multiple engineers and teams, contribute to technical direction, and help maintain Tier-1 production systems. The role is part of an AI-forward engineering culture. Engineers are expected to use AI tools across coding, testing, debugging, and documentation while remaining accountable for the correctness of shipped work. Senior engineers also guide peers in using AI responsibly and assess AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability. Corporate team members are expected to work in the office at least 50% of the time monthly, typically three days a week. Managers may set higher in-office expectations according to team needs.
