About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer designs and implements scalable software platforms across infrastructure, tools, and development methodologies, with an emphasis on AI-assisted development and automation. The role helps build PatientPoint’s next-generation unified platform using Python 3, Google Ad Manager, Operative AOS, Elasticsearch, and AWS. The engineer owns work from architecture through delivery and builds high-performance, production-grade software that supports meaningful health impacts. The position is remote and requires 4–5 weeks of travel per year. The role collaborates with Product, DevOps, and Security, contributes to architectural decisions and code quality, and mentors peers and junior engineers. AI development tools are used to accelerate implementation, improve quality, generate and maintain tests, and automate repetitive engineering work.

Requirements

At least 6 years of backend software engineering experience focused on enterprise-grade applications.
At least 4 years developing scalable, high-performance, high-availability microservices.
At least 4 years designing cloud-native architectures and implementing infrastructure as code.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience with relational databases and writing optimized SQL queries.
At least 2 years of Google Ad Manager or other ad-server experience.
At least 2 years of front-end development experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
Advanced proficiency in Python 3; expert-level knowledge is required and will be evaluated through a coding assessment.
Experience with Elasticsearch or other cloud-native search technologies.
Hands-on experience using AI-based development tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, to build production software and automate engineering workflows.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with observability tools and performance monitoring platforms, including New Relic and Sentry.
Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Amazon ECS, and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud security concepts and protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, HMAC, data encryption, hashing, and secret management.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product, DevOps, and Security.
Understanding of digital advertising ecosystems and platforms such as Google Ad Manager, Kevel, Sizmek, and DV360.
Awareness of healthcare compliance standards and regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA and PHI.
Experience developing software focused on customer feedback and iterative improvement.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs deployed in AWS across multiple technical domains.
Develop scalable, high-performance solutions that follow modern software design principles and meet business requirements.
Contribute to architectural discussions and drive implementation of clean, reusable solutions across services.
Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of core platform services and APIs.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, retrospectives, and story grooming.
Conduct code reviews, share technical feedback, and contribute to continuous improvements in code quality.
Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Security to support high-quality software delivery.
Mentor peers and junior engineers through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Use AI-based development tools to accelerate development, generate and maintain tests, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and improve code quality and velocity.
