About The Position

Essen Health Care is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join its founding engineering team and build its healthcare platform. The engineer will take well-scoped technical work from principal engineers and deliver it end to end, including features, integrations, bug fixes, and infrastructure improvements. The role spans the full stack and provides ownership over the work built. The platform supports clinical outreach, AI automations involving payor and Medicaid systems, EHR integrations, and tools that provide patient context to care coordinators. The engineer will also contribute to API performance, data pipelines, deployment tooling, and test coverage. Day-to-day work includes selecting tasks from a prioritized queue, writing and testing code, submitting pull requests, shipping changes, clarifying technical approaches with principal engineers, and participating in code reviews. The position is based in the Bronx, co-located with Essen Health Care staff, on a hybrid schedule of three days on-site and two days remote. The company describes the role as an opportunity to help shape a platform from the ground up, learn healthcare, and work on a small team whose products are used directly by care delivery staff.
