Senior Software Engineer, HIL Infrastructure

Motional•Las Vegas, NV
•$149,000 - $198,500•Hybrid

About The Position

Motional is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Infrastructure team. The role focuses on scaling and automating offboard testing workflows to make them thorough, efficient, and reliable. The engineer will work hands-on with HIL infrastructure, physical bench hardware, and autonomous-vehicle software, contributing to the continuous improvement, scaling, and reliability of testing infrastructure in support of safe autonomous deployment. The position involves writing and evaluating simulations, interfacing with hardware testing, and improving the AV software release process. It works across infrastructure and autonomy teams to make offboard HIL testing accessible and representative, support reliable software releases, and meet customer needs in offboard simulation and testing environments. The role is hybrid, with flexible work locations and some on-site HIL work and cross-team collaboration. Working directly on HIL equipment requires knowledge of basic electrical systems and safety. The estimated base salary range is $149,000–$198,500 USD. The role may include additional compensation such as a bonus or company equity. Motional benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, health savings accounts, life insurance, and pet insurance.
