About The Position

This is a Remote role aligning with Eastern Standard Time. It is a Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule with a mandatory on-call rotation. This position collaborates with our internal software development team to design and maintain custom applications for both internal and external clients. Although all team members possess a certain level of SQL proficiency, this position will specifically focus on monitoring performance, ensuring security, and developing SQL architecture.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET web-based applications.
• Proven ability to design, develop, test, and support application components utilizing the .NET Framework and C#.
• Experience working within Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code (2017 or later).
• Experience using source control and code repositories, with a strong preference for Git.
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile software development environments, particularly using Scrum methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of logistics operations, with a particular emphasis on U.S. Customs brokerage processes.
• Experience managing source control, branching strategies, and deployments using Git within Visual Studio environments.
• Familiarity with Jira and/or Azure DevOps for work item management, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipeline deployments.
• Experience partnering with Business Analysts and Quality Assurance teams throughout the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.
• Ability to translate user stories, business requirements, and use cases into scalable, maintainable software solutions and technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Creating intricate Stored Procedures and data models to meet business needs.
• Conducting SQL Performance Tuning with tools such as SQL Test.
• Working daily in an Agile development environment.
• Developing integrated solutions that utilize both Oracle and SQL Server.
• Independently executing programming tasks while assisting in the design and maintenance of large engineering projects.
• Enhancing software architecture for both new and legacy code.
• Managing projects and maintaining solutions and source control through GIT and Azure DevOps.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
• Continuously learning and adapting to emerging technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the tech landscape.
• Contributing to a culture of innovation and efficiency, fostering an environment where everyone's ideas are valued and teamwork thrives.
• Implementing robust security measures to protect data integrity and privacy, aligning with industry standards.
