About The Position

Fenix24 is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its product team to build scalable, cloud-native services that process infrastructure, backup, and asset telemetry and deliver insights to customers. The role is primarily backend, with opportunities to work across the full stack. The team combines startup-like speed and ownership with the stability of an established company and uses AI-assisted, agentic development as part of its engineering workflow.

The engineer will lead significant features from requirements through release, own key areas of the platform over the long term, and help strengthen engineering practices across the team. The role involves directing AI tools and critically evaluating their output, as well as ensuring the platform remains reliable, maintainable, and healthy.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience in Python or a statically typed language such as C#, Java, C++, or Rust; working knowledge of Python is required.
• Solid grounding in system design, including experience designing and building cloud-based services, APIs, and data pipelines, including microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents to build and ship software, with the ability to guide them effectively and evaluate their output.
• Proven experience leading delivery of features or projects involving multiple engineers, from requirements definition through release.
• Experience working on agile teams, delivering iteratively, and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, especially data protection, authentication, and secure coding principles.
• Ability to work effectively on a fully remote team.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the company while modeling Fenix24’s Culture and Values.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Azure and the listed data platforms and technology stack: Python, Rust, TypeScript, Vue.js, Microsoft Azure Function Apps and containers, Databricks, Delta Tables, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Bicep, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Anthropic Claude.
• Industry experience in cybersecurity or familiarity with common security practices and frameworks.
• Experience across multiple languages and technology stacks, and interest in working across backend and frontend.
• Background working on an early-stage or fast-moving software product.

Responsibilities

• Own software delivery end to end by partnering with product to define requirements and success criteria, breaking work into iterative deliverables, coordinating other engineers, and delivering through release.
• Design, implement, and optimize scalable Azure services and data pipelines that turn resiliency-relevant data from backup, hypervisor, EDR, and cloud sources into actionable insights.
• Build reliable third-party API integrations, handling authentication, rate limits, pagination, and changes in upstream data formats.
• Use agentic coding tools as part of daily work, providing context and direction and critically evaluating generated code for architecture, design, and logic.
• Own key platform components over the long term and ensure their health, reliability, and maintainability through monitoring, logging, and proactive improvement.
• Contribute to planning by identifying risks, dependencies, and technical unknowns early.
• Mentor engineers, provide feedback, participate in retrospectives, and help improve team planning, communication, and delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teammates to meet requirements and deliver features on time.
• Perform other duties as required.
