About The Position

Contributes to the development of embedded software and tools for the GM Infotainment components. Works on the entire lifecycle of the assigned domain, including requirements, system design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the Infotainment development tools. Delivers development tools by coding best in class embedded software using Embedded C with Keil IDE, C/C++, Java and QNX/Linux/Android expertise. Works on and solves a variety of embedded hardware. Develops CAN/LIN/CAN FD and FSA protocol. Develops tools using Python and C#. Work with GM business leads and engineering specialists to identify, capture and refine system requirements. Works with and bridge across multiple fields, including Engineering, Information Technology, Technical Support, and Marketing, to make appropriate system level design trades. Ensures clear and complete design level documentation. Facilitates direct employees, contracted resources or third-party companies to develop, integrate, and test software deliveries using embedded diagnostic and development tools. Coordinates and participates in architecture, requirements, design, code, and test case reviews. Work closely with other team leads to support triage and resolution of difficult system problems in a timely manner. Interact with internal customers, vendors and external organizations to refine understanding of requirements and identify innovation opportunities. Works with program management and Product Owners to define sprints and releases. Design and implement comprehensive dashboards in Databricks and Grafana to actively monitor and visualize real-time vehicle usage alerts, ensuring timely detection and analysis of key performance indicators and system behaviors for enhanced vehicle data insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study and Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role.
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Software application development experience in automotive and portable consumer electronic devices in embedded domain; Using and managing agile software development process; Python and C#; CAN/LIN/CAN FD and FSA; and Linux and Android.
  • Four (4) years of experience with: Commercial software development experience in C, C++, and Java; Embedded systems development; Developing and deploying products in global markets; and Performing system wide triage.
  • Three (3) years of experience with: Software application development experience in automotive and portable consumer electronic devices in embedded domain; Using and managing agile software development process; Python and C#; CAN/LIN/CAN FD and FSA; and Linux and Android.
  • Two (2) years of experience with: Commercial software development experience in C, C++, and Java; Embedded systems development; Developing and deploying products in global markets; and Performing system wide triage.
