The Senior Software Engineer will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives. About the team: The Customer Engagement Services Technology Engineering team manages Contact Center platforms at Walmart, delivering advanced software solutions that enhance customer interactions. The team focuses on building scalable, reliable, and high-quality applications through iterative development and continuous integration. Members collaborate to design, develop, and maintain components that meet business and technical requirements, ensuring seamless platform performance. Emphasizing technical expertise and problem-solving, the team drives innovation in platform design and delivery, supporting Walmart’s commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software architecture, design patterns, and scalable distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in multiple coding languages such as Java, Python, and C, with adherence to coding standards and guidelines.
  • Strong skills in code review, debugging, and delivering maintainable, testable, and secure code.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation scripting.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, perform risk assessments, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Expertise in test case creation, defect management, and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and technical acumen in iterative and incremental development environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

  • Design scalable, maintainable software components using established architecture and design patterns.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and debugging to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver iterative and incremental software solutions.
  • Implement automation scripts to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize system availability.
