Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI)
About The Position
Traba is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain. This product-engineering role applies frontier models and existing AI agents across Traba’s staffing marketplace to automate the processes of sourcing, vetting, matching, and placing workers. The role is not focused on building the agent platform or its orchestration internals; instead, it uses those capabilities to ship reliable automation and solve the company’s highest-priority product problems, which may or may not involve AI. The engineer will work across the worker app, business app, and operations platform, and may contribute to agent automation, payments, or platform work depending on priorities. The role partners with the CTO on architecture and roadmap and helps build the platform the company runs on. It also owns product surfaces end to end in close partnership with product and design, while leading frontend and backend development and mentoring other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience across frontend and backend development.
- Experience with TypeScript, React or React Native, and Node.js or Python.
- Strong skills in APIs, distributed systems, PostgreSQL, and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or agents into real products, including prompting, tool wiring, and evaluations.
- Track record of shipping scalable products in early-stage, ambiguous environments.
Responsibilities
- Apply existing agents and frontier models across the worker app, business app, operations platform, and marketplace to automate vetting, matching, and fulfillment.
- Lead frontend and backend development and mentor other engineers.
- Architect and build core systems, including real-time matching, autonomous vetting pipelines, distributed systems, and APIs.
- Own product surfaces end to end in close partnership with product and design.
- Partner with the CTO on architecture and roadmap.
- Work on the highest-priority product problems, which may include AI agents, payments, or platform work.
