Senior Software Engineer

The Gersh Agency•Beverly Hills, CA
•$155,000 - $165,000

About The Position

Gersh is seeking an ambitious Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve the platforms that power our business. You will work across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP), SaaS integrations, content management systems (CMS), and AI-driven features. This is a hands-on technical role with real architectural ownership: you will shape how our systems scale, mentor other engineers, and partner closely with project and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into reliable, maintainable software. This is an ideal role for an ambitious professional with 0 to 3 years of project coordination or tech operations experience looking to advance their career in a rapidly evolving environment with exposure to AI, automation, business intelligence, and technology.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, SQL, and front-end frameworks like vue.js.
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud), including compute, storage, networking, serverless, and managed database services.
  • Proven experience designing and operating scalable, distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), and caching (e.g., Redis).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Bicep).
  • Hands-on experience integrating with or customizing ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo, or Workday.
  • Experience building on or extending CMS platforms such as Contentful, Strapi, Sanity, Adobe Experience Manager, or Sitecore, including headless architectures.
  • Practical experience shipping AI/ML features to production, such as integrating LLM APIs, building RAG pipelines, working with vector databases, or deploying ML models and AI agents.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB) and data modeling.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design, identity and authorization (OAuth 2.0, OIDC), and application security best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of collaborating across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with ML frameworks and tooling (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex) and MLOps practices.
  • Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, OpenSearch) and AI evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with ERP migrations, data warehousing, or integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services).
  • Background in front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue) for CMS-driven experiences.
  • Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and GDPR.
  • Capable of working from the middle out.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud-native services that are secure, resilient, observable, and cost-efficient.
  • Lead architectural decisions for distributed systems, including service boundaries, data partitioning, caching strategies, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment workflows.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, plan for capacity, and ensure systems meet availability and latency targets.
  • Champion reliability practices such as monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
  • Design and build integrations between core platforms and ERP systems covering finance, talent management, order management, and HR data.
  • Develop robust APIs, middleware, and data synchronization pipelines that keep business-critical data accurate and consistent across systems.
  • Translate business processes into technical workflows in partnership with IT, operations, and finance teams.
  • Ensure integrations are auditable, fault-tolerant, and compliant with data governance requirements in the US and EU.
  • Architect and extend CMS platforms, including headless and API-first implementations, to support fast, flexible content delivery across web and mobile channels.
  • Build content models, custom modules, and publishing workflows that empower non-technical teams.
  • Optimize content delivery through CDNs, caching, and front-end performance best practices.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered features such as LLM-based assistants, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), recommendations, classification, and process automation.
  • Integrate machine learning models and third-party AI APIs into production systems with attention to latency, cost, evaluation, and safety.
  • Establish practices for prompt management, model evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI use.
  • Collaborate with data teams to build pipelines that prepare and serve data for AI workloads.
  • Mentor and support mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
  • Write and review technical design documents and contribute to long-term technical roadmaps.
  • Set and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, security, and documentation.
  • Communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
