About The Position
Adobe Unified Platform is changing how software gets made at Adobe. It reads builders' intent, breaks down complex work, runs it through autonomous agents, and improves every cycle. What this team ships reaches thousands of engineers. It's the foundation the rest of Adobe's agentic work is built on! The platform is model-independent by design. It integrates the best models and partner capabilities available, from frontier labs to cloud partners to internal research, and swaps them in cleanly as the field shifts. We're hiring a senior Software Engineer to own the engineering behind that: the integration layer, the abstractions, and the evaluation systems. This is a hands-on senior role on a team of senior and principal engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering.
- Complex backend or platform systems from design through production.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on skills in Python, Go, or Java.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted development.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, or AI/ML systems.
- A practical sense of where these systems fail in production.
- Ownership of full system designs and architectural decisions.
- Experience integrating third-party or cloud services and designing for failure.
- A history as a technical role model who mentors and influences hiring.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the integration layer to model providers and partner services.
- Build API clients, routing, and fallback logic.
- Keep the platform model-independent through clean abstractions.
- Own the systems that evaluate model quality, latency, cost, and reliability.
- Lead the engineering to onboard new models and partners.
- Make each new model fast, well-tested, and low-risk to adopt.
- Build instrumentation and dashboards that show how models behave in production.
- Lead build-vs-buy and integration decisions for engineering leadership.
- Harden integrations against outages, latency spikes, and rate limits.
- Mentor engineers and set the standards for integration work.
