Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its intelligence team on a new, high-priority project. The team will aggregate data sources to clarify what infrastructure was requested and deployed, identify discrepancies, and alert on them proactively. Subject matter experts will use the application to investigate and refine best practices and deployment rules; the team will also identify and alert when requested or provisioned infrastructure violates those rules. The engineer will focus on streaming analytics and ETL, designing pipelines that turn infrastructure data into actionable insights. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders across the organization and contributing in areas such as subject matter expertise, database design, and full-stack development. The position is based with Belay Technologies, a systems automation and full-stack development company serving the Department of Defense and commercial clients.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- 12 years of experience and a bachelor's degree, or 4 additional years of experience in place of a bachelor's degree.
- Experience with Kafka and streaming analytics.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java.
- Strong background in relational, document, and/or graph databases.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of adjacent domains such as dataflow, data science, and mission analytics.
- Experience analyzing cybersecurity-related datasets, including network traffic and operating-system events.
- Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
- Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.
- Familiarity with Git and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Responsibilities
- Build streaming data pipelines using Kafka, Python, and Java to process infrastructure data.
- Develop ETL workflows to reconcile requested and realized infrastructure.
- Ensure scalable and reliable data ingestion and processing.
- Collaborate with full-stack engineers on integration and visualization of results.
