Senior Software Engineer

SpotOnChicago, IL

About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Hospitality Fulfillment team at SpotOn. Our domain focus on how customers’ orders actually get to the kitchen and are prepared, so the work you’ll be doing is critical for smooth restaurant operation. You'll work across various backend services and microfrontends to build features that power our Express POS. The ideal candidate will be able to: Take extreme ownership: You don’t just close tickets; you own the outcome. If a feature breaks or a customer is stuck, you’re the one who sees the fix through, regardless of where the problem sits in the stack. Navigate real complexity: We aren’t doing simple CRUD work. You will be untangling massive systems and solving high-stakes puzzles that require creative thinking and the grit to push through frustration. Be a "whatever it takes" engineer: You are flexible. If the frontend lead is out or an infra fire starts, you’re ready to jump in, learn what you don't know, and clear the path for the team. Treat AI as a teammate: We use AI tools daily to move faster. You’ll be expected to leverage these tools to solve "impossible" problems and keep our quality bar high. Drive the team forward: You’ll provide technical leadership, ensuring we’re making smart decisions and addressing tech debt before it becomes a roadblock.
