Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements and handles moderately complex to complex assignments requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The role standardizes software quality assurance procedures, oversees testing and debugging, develops fixes, and investigates complaints to resolve complex software-related issues. The engineer begins to influence departmental strategy and makes technical decisions independently, with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches. The position works closely with business leaders to develop innovative solutions that improve functionality, efficiency, and user satisfaction. It also involves designing and reviewing software solutions to meet business requirements, supporting a smooth transition to the development team, and conducting quality reviews to improve deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of mainframe experience designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.
- COBOL coding experience.
- Experience with CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
- Agile experience.
Nice To Haves
- CAS knowledge.
- Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO).
- MongoDB experience.
- Azure Databricks experience.
- Master's degree.
