About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer - CoreAI will work on Azure App Service Linux, a large and rapidly growing part of Azure App Service. The role involves building and managing a large-scale platform, applying distributed systems, Linux operating system, and container technology expertise to design a resilient, secure, and reliable service for Microsoft’s strategic customers. Engineers own features and services, investigate ambiguous problems, and develop customer-centered solutions that support world-class availability and stability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience with C# or similar object-oriented programming.
• 4+ years of experience with Linux-based operating systems.
• 2+ years of experience with distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and code features for App Service Linux.
• Improve internal platform operations to make processes more reliable and the system more resilient.
• Work autonomously to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
• Support live services, including being on call, conducting investigations, driving rollouts, monitoring, and identifying the root causes of outages.
