Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a classified position at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. The role supports execution of the USAF Airworthiness process under MIL-HDBK-516 and the Air Force Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201. The engineer applies knowledge of business and mission systems that support Program Office capabilities, particularly software engineering, software security, and cyber (IA) security, to help implement Air Force Integrity Programs. A current TS/SCI clearance is required. The role supports software engineering and acquisition activities, including requirements development and verification, weapon-system design and documentation reviews, program briefings and reviews, deficiency analysis and corrective-action recommendations, contract and documentation updates, technical support for source selections, and the development and review of products required by DoDI 5000.02. It also contributes to software engineering documentation, software development strategy and planning, and the design, development, integration, and fielding of Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
Requirements
- ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering; the posting also states a bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
- At least 20 years of relevant Department of Defense experience.
- At least five years in a DoD acquisition program as a subsystem or system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I (or equivalent) special access program office.
- At least two years of DoD SAP engineering experience before selection for employment under this contract.
- Knowledge of software engineering supporting the design, development, test and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new or existing software systems.
- Current TS/SCI security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
- Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
- Gather and develop technical and business data for program briefs and present them as required.
- Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews.
- Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support development of contract changes and documentation changes and updates.
- Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.
- Support development and review of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
- Review, develop, and update applicable program documentation for software engineering requirements.
- Support development of the software development strategy and Software Development Plan.
- Support tasks required to design, develop, integrate, and field Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
- Assist with execution of USAF Airworthiness, LCSE, and OSS&E processes and support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
