About The Position

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a GNSS Software V&V Engineer with responsibilities in verification and validation of GNSS software requirements, design, and implementation to comply with DO‑178C DAL A objectives. Responsibilities include developing and executing verification plans, procedures, test cases and performing functional, integration, robustness, and performance testing. This is an onsite position in Melbourne, Florida.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Working Knowledge of ARINC 429, DO-330 and DO-178C
  • Experience using SVN and the Atlassian collaboration tools such as Jira and Jama
  • Working knowledge of LDRA, MATLAB and Spirent simulators
  • Hands-on experience in Python scripting
  • Proficiency in development of test plans, test procedures and software integration testing of Avionics products
  • Experience in Test Automations and Integration.
  • Familiarity with test management suites, defect tracking tools, and requirements management platforms.
  • Ability to interpret requirements, create test cases, and analyze test results.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of navigation products, especially in GNSS
  • Embedded C/C++ software development experience
  • Experience in timing, memory, stack usage and structural coverage analysis
  • Experienced in software structural coverage analysis using LDRA or VectorCast
  • Knowledge of GNSS Simulators and test scenario definitions

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute verification plans, procedures, and test cases for GNSS and navigation functions, and integrity‑monitoring software.
  • Perform requirements‑based verification at the unit, integration, and system levels.
  • Use automation, scripting, and GenAI‑enhanced tools to streamline and improve verification efficiency.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, and results in accordance with DO‑178C DAL A processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer reviews, and formal verification activities
  • Collaborate closely with navigation algorithm engineers, systems engineering, and hardware teams to ensure robust end‑to‑end performance.
  • Support certification activities, including documentation, audits, and development of verification artifacts required for airworthiness approval.
