About The Position

The Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Controls Software Test Team is looking for a Systems and Features Test Engineer to join our organization. Our area is rapidly growing and is being transformed due to the adoption of software-defined vehicle architecture. In the Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis electronics system test space, we validate different customer-facing features in functional areas like braking, steering, damping, and vehicle leveling. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in future technologies GM is introducing in the vehicle motion controls space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in software engineering
  • Experience in programming/scripting
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Valid US Driver License

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with vehicle and bench validation at component or subsystem level
  • Experience with data logging tools (Vehicle Spy, CANALYZER Tools etc.)
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) process and familiarity with Gherkin
  • Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira and other configuration management, version control and code quality tools
  • Experience with virtual testing (CoSIM)
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development using C/Matlab/Simulink and associated tools (Jira, DOORS, Rhapsody, GIT etc.)
  • Quick to learn, ambitious, and willing to work hands-on with GM's vehicles and benches

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional steering domain communications with systems and validation teams
  • Lead chassis controls electronics features and systems testing (manual and automated)
  • Create steering controls software feature & system Behavioral Test Specifications (BTS)
  • Develop and implement test scripts for our virtual test environment
  • Lead test automation development and execution for steering controls HIL benches
  • Analyze nightly runs, review results and document defects and resolutions in Jira
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (PI planning, DSU etc.)
