About The Position

Nuro is seeking experienced machine learning researchers and engineers to join their team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in machine learning to solve challenges in Nuro's autonomy stack, including detection with sensor fusion, tracking, fine-grained classification, and human intent understanding. You will be involved in all stages of problem-solving, from initial proof of concept and model iteration to onboard deployment and on-road performance monitoring and troubleshooting. You will develop techniques and processes to train models that can utilize massive datasets while keeping onboard latency in check for deployability. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of novel problems and delve deeply into them.

Requirements

  • Recent experience in applying state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to solving autonomous driving problems, such as modern object detection models, sensor fusion, and multiple task learning.
  • Strong ML fundamentals and demonstrated experience building and expanding model architectures.
  • Strong SWE fundamentals and demonstrated SWE experience in both high and low-level languages (Python and C++).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in deploying models in real-time environments.
  • Optimizing architectures to explore the accuracy vs. compute tradeoff.
  • Experience working with productizing ML models and the infrastructure supporting model development (data, large scale training, eval, etc).
