Senior Software Engineer, Merchant Onboarding
About The Position
Tabs is seeking a senior software engineer to join our Merchant Onboarding team. This team is building from the ground up and will define ways to streamline the onboarding experience, unlock growth, and amplify internal teams to move quickly. The team owns the full merchant journey, from onboarding & configuration to the internal tooling that powers our teams. Engineers on this team will work across real production systems, complex data flows, and product surfaces used by teams who need software they can trust. The company hires people who enjoy taking ownership, learning fast, and partnering closely with teammates to build things the right way.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building web applications or backend services in production
- Familiarity with modern backend languages and frameworks
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar
- Experience working with APIs and relational databases
- Shipped real software and learned from breaking prod a time or two
Nice To Haves
- Experience with TypeScript, Node, NestJS
- Experience with React, Next.js
- Experience with Postgres
- Experience with Redis
- Experience with Temporal for job management
- Experience in fintech
Responsibilities
- Core backend services and APIs
- Product surfaces that finance teams rely on daily
- Interfaces and tools that simplify complex concepts for internal and external users
- Internal systems that improve reliability, observability, and performance
- Partnering closely with Product and Design through quick conversations, whiteboard sessions, and collaborative problem solving.
