Senior Software Engineer I

CyrusOne•Carrollton, TX

About The Position

CyrusOne is seeking an experienced software engineer to build and own applications supporting customers, suppliers, and internal business operations. The role offers significant ownership on a small team, with opportunities to make technical decisions, improve workflows, and deliver visible business impact. The team uses AI in development workflows to accelerate delivery and expand its capabilities. The engineer will own features from concept through delivery, work across frontend and backend systems, collaborate with business stakeholders to shape solutions, investigate production issues, and contribute to technical decisions and continuous improvement. Success requires a product mindset, sound technical judgment, adaptability, independent problem-solving, outcome focus, and humble collaboration. The applications use a modern stack including C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Vue, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, SignalR, Microsoft Azure, Docker, GitHub, and Azure DevOps. Experience with every listed technology is not required; the company emphasizes engineering fundamentals, judgment, problem-solving, and ability to learn. The position requires typical weekday attendance, Monday through Friday, in a remote or office setting. After-hours work may occasionally be required to meet business and customer needs. Reasonable accommodations may be available for individuals with disabilities. U.S. citizenship may be required for certain government contract or security clearance reasons.

  • Hands-on experience in a microservices environment applying practices such as Domain-Driven Design, Clean/Onion Architecture, CQRS, and Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience with publish/subscribe and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or MQTT.
  • Experience developing and deploying applications in a Linux-based cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure, using Docker or similar container technologies.
  • Exposure to frontend development using Vue.js 3, TypeScript, Node.js, or a comparable modern JavaScript framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-sized projects or features from development through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development principles and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex technical issues and make sound technical decisions.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills, and ability to build productive relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to work effectively within CyrusOne’s culture, core values, and business goals.
