About The Position
This role is part of a developer-experience team serving a large, successful, socially responsible big-data business. The team helps address business needs, generally through domain-specific languages and automated code generation. The position combines software development with technical writing, training, release management, tool evangelism, and support for developers.
Requirements
- Strong Java skills.
- Ability to learn new software packages quickly, with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for developer experience and enablement.
- Technical writing and editing competencies, knowledge, and skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage workflow and multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines, with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Explain the core capabilities of assigned tools and systems, stay informed about upcoming features and changes, and manage upcoming versions and change logs.
- Support new tools and systems, including triaging incoming questions and issues.
- Identify, analyze, and help resolve program support deficiencies.
- Identify opportunities to cooperate with other teams to improve overall quality and work with peers to implement initiatives that improve testing capability and efficiency.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and circumstances to meet business needs.
- Create walkthrough documentation and examples, including demos and GitHub walkthroughs.
- Create and deliver technical documentation materials through video or written and coded examples.
