About The Position

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service. Overview We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. As an integral member of our software team, you will play a leading role in bringing the production of our eVTOL to Industry 4.0. You will be responsible for conception and development of software services interacting with everything from large production machines to your colleagues, users, and everything in between - driving automation and coherence to existing regulations in this new type of industry. With your development skills, you will drive the integration of our production machines and the connection to all related production data, significantly advancing automation to the greatest extent possible.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and
5+ Years of software engineering experience
Feedback-oriented work experience (direct (internal) customer contact)
Experience in working with complex projects and agile working methods
Advanced proficiency with React or similar packages
Working proficiency with JavaScript, Typescript and HTML
Working proficiency with state-of-the-art Front End testing libraries
Working proficiency with working with RESTful and/or GraphQL web services web services

Nice To Haves

Confident handling of GitHub-based CI/CD
Feedback-oriented work attitude
Experience in working independently in international teams
Experience with AI-assisted software development
Ideally, experience in the production sector

Responsibilities

Developing and iterating on the front ends for various bespoke software services in our manufacturing environment
Developing robust and effective user experiences optimized for our use cases
Collaborating with designers and product managers to refine and improve UX deliverables
Optimization of the existing frameworks to increase the performance
Tailoring user experiences to work well on desktop and mobile devices
Collaboration with internal stakeholders to determine and coordinate requirements and functions
Collaboration with external stakeholders, customers, users, and providers to determine optimal strategies and system stability
